Resistance on the Joyful Path 💪

Nov 04, 2025

Let’s talk about resistance.

You know that feeling — when your intuition nudges you toward something, but your mind immediately kicks in with doubt, overthinking, or endless excuses? That’s resistance showing up.

The thing about intuition is that it often moves way ahead of your mind — sometimes years ahead. It knows where you’re meant to go long before your logical brain catches up.

And even though intuition (or the Divine, however you relate to it) truly has your back and wants you to live a full, joyful life… that doesn’t mean that following it is instantly easy. You don’t just get an intuitive hit and step straight into “happily ever after.”

Real-life examples

Here are a few times I’ve noticed this in my own life:

🟠 I knew for years that my relationship with my ex-husband needed to change. My intuition whispered it long before I was ready to listen — and it took me almost five years to take that step.

🟣 The same thing happened with a past job. Deep down, I knew it wasn’t right for me, yet I stayed for about five years before finally choosing to move on.

Even small shifts can bring up resistance.

🟢 Just last month, I knew I needed to have an uncomfortable conversation with my mum. She was coming to help care for our baby, and I wanted to talk honestly about both our needs during her stay.

That kind of open, direct communication isn’t part of my family’s usual dynamic. In my family, you’re expected to read minds — and when unspoken expectations aren’t met (as they rarely are), frustration builds. I wanted to break that cycle.

So I prepared myself carefully. I made sure to release any emotional charge before speaking — no blame, no shame. I stayed clear on what I wanted the conversation to be about.

It was uncomfortable, yes. But it was also exactly what we both needed. 👏

The real lesson

The path to joyful, aligned living isn’t always comfortable. It stretches you. It brings up excuses, resistance, and procrastination. It challenges how you think, behave, and interact with others.

But it’s so worth it.

Because on the other side of that resistance is growth — and often, a life that feels lighter, freer, and more aligned with who you truly are.

So the next time resistance arises when you follow your intuition, remember: it’s not a sign to stop. It’s an invitation to grow.

The bigger the resistance, the bigger the opportunity for expansion.

Here’s to trusting your intuition — even when it’s uncomfortable.

Have a beautiful week,
Mariya
