Work is Love Made Visible (Part 3) Lifestyle

It's rather vulnerable to be sharing these thoughts, as I don't know all the answers, and am still very much in the process of building a new way of working and living.

Yet, becoming a mom once more has resurfaced questions that I hear others asking as well:

-- Family or Work?

-- Rest or Work?

As I am answering those questions for myself, I want to share. Because the shift in how we approach work is happening for many people right now.

In my heart, I can hold the opposites:

- my love for my work, my clients, and self-expression, spirit, divine, purpose, initiating change

AND

- my deep love for my kids, my partner, and my devotion to them.

Now the question that has been in my space for a while now - is how do I create space and time for both?

Here are some pointers that have held true for me. I hope they also create more room for a full and expressed life for you.

Pointer #1.

Release dichotomous thinking.

The more I can lean into my heart and its magical qualities, the more I am guided by spirit to move in certain directions with my family-work dichotomy. I am moving one step at a time, and gradually - the entire picture begins to unfold. Step by step.

If we only operate from the mind, then we can't create something new. We are waiting for proof, for data. But we need to be creating proof and data as we go. And it's inspired from the inside out.

Pointer #2.

 Believe It's Possible.

There are days when evidence is lacking. Yet, it's not a sign to stop. You don't need constant affirmation that some deep desires of your heart are true. That's where maturity starts to play a role. And you keep walking and keep co-creating.

But here is some evidence: I've been speaking to several very successful entrepreneurs who work 3-4 hours a day and have a family. Did it happen overnight? No! It's been a journey for them, too.

 Pointer #3.

Respecting the seasons.

Building a life of your dreams doesn't happen overnight. Sometimes, you push on the gas, and sometimes, you brake. It's not linear, and not constant.

At least, that's been my experience. There were days in the past when I worked 10 hours a day, and there were days I worked none.

This ebb and flow, especially depending on family needs, is normal. And, when you are able to disengage your worth from productivity and immediate results, you can persevere and keep going.

Pointer #4.

Use technology.

Many spiritual people resent technology. I understand these sentiments - I was in that same camp in the past.

With my partner being an AI software engineer, I have to listen to AI advancements on a weekly basis - to respect his craft!

He doesn't help me with technology, but he has helped me to release resistance and even anger towards it. And he has helped me begin to want to learn, experiment, explore, and implement.

I am learning to see that technology - if used with intention - can enhance our craft. But it doesn't have the soul and spirit. However, it can make our lives easier in practical ways.

Pointer #5.

Simplify.

I used to want to do everything for everyone. Wanting to have family and work forced me to sit with hard questions:

- what matters to me?

- what are my values?

- what are my gifts?

- what brings joy to me?

So that I can focus only on the most important things. And release the rest (for now).

Pointer #6.
Work smarter - not harder!

No more time or space for busy work. I outsource things I don't enjoy doing. And celebrate being ok with getting help.

Pointer #7.

Your work needs to support your lifestyle.

This is more of a conceptual pointer. But it has been a huge shift for me - to start thinking that I am not a slave to work. But work is here to help me serve others and express myself. And it's a joyful exchange.

This shift is helping me clean up any areas of my life where I still self-sacrifice. And where I still leak energy by being a victim of work.

Will keep sharing as I learn new things. What are your thoughts on this?

Xx,

Mariya
